苏州市职业大学简介
苏州市职业大学是经江苏省人民政府批准，由苏州市人民政府主办的全日制普通高等专科学校，前身为创办于1911年的苏州工业专科学校。自1981年成立以来，秉承“勤、勇、忠、信”的校训，确立“一个目标两步走、三条主线四个理念”的办学发展思路,抓住“大楼、大师、大品牌”办学主线，践行“质量立校、人才强校、特色兴校、机制活校”的办学理念，赢得了良好的社会声誉，成为区域品牌院校。目前，正致力于建成一所立足苏州，面向江苏，辐射全国，以工为主、多学科协调发展、具有鲜明办学特色的应用型地方本科院校—“苏州学院”。
学校环境
学校现有石湖、干将路、潭山和吏舍弄四个校区，占地面积1262亩，校舍建筑面积49万平方米，馆藏纸质图书138.6万册，教学科研仪器设备总值1.83亿元。设有12个学院(部)，开设了涵盖理工、文史、艺术、师范、体育等科类共63个专业，普通全日制在校生13542名。教职员工1029名，正高职称63，副高以上职称360人，具有高级职称的教师占专任教师的44.41%，具有研究生学位的教师占专任教师的69.9%;有享受国务院政府特殊津贴专家1人，江苏省有突出贡献中青年专家2人，省“六大人才高峰”培养对象3人，省“333高层次人才培养工程”培养对象16人，省“青蓝工程”培养对象23人，省名教师1人，省级优秀教学团队1个。
学校以培养应用性高素质技术技能型人才为己任，围绕地方产业发展重点和社会对紧缺人才的需求，深入推动教学改革，构建人才培养特色。有教育部重点专业和教改试点专业3个，省“十二五”高等学校重点专业群3个，省级品牌特色专业9个。省级精品课程8门，省级优秀课程群1个，省高等学校精品教材9部，教师主参编各类教材300余部。学校建有集教学、培训、服务于一体的校内综合实训基地271个，其中教育部职业教育实训基地建设项目1个，省级实训基地3个;与上海大唐移动通信设备有限公司、西门子(中国)有限公司等著名企业实现了校企深度合作，建有312个校外实训基地。
教研成果
学校致力科研创新突破。建有2个省级工程中心，3个省级研究所(基地)，2个市重点实验室、2个市级平台和12个校级研究所。近三年来，获国家自然科学基金和社会科学基金资助项目12项，省部级项目7项;其他社会服务科技项目474项;授权专利530项;知识产权数连续多年位列全省同类高校前列。学校在多个领域为地方经济建设、政府决策和企业发展提供决策咨询并承担课题研究，为苏州古城墙恢复重建、山塘文化保护、刺绣传承与创新作出了重要贡献。
学校以中外合作办学为平台，积极引进国外同类院校中优质教育资源，稳步提升国际化水平。先后与加拿大乔治布朗学院、澳大利亚北墨尔本高等技术学院和启思蒙学院、日本金城学园、新西兰国立理工大学在学分互认、互派师生交流、语言培训等方面开展良好的合作。

Brief introduction of Suzhou Vocational University
Suzhou Vocational University is a full-time general college approved by the people’s Government of Jiangsu Province and sponsored by the people’s Government of Suzhou, formerly known as Suzhou Polytechnic College, which was founded in 1911. Since its establishment in 1981, adhering to the school motto of “diligence, courage, loyalty and trust”, it has established the development idea of “one goal, two steps, three main lines and four ideas”, and grasped the main line of “building, master, big brand”. The school-running concept of “building a school with high quality, strong talents, invigorating a school with characteristics and a living mechanism” has won a good social reputation and become a regional brand university. At present, it is committed to building an applied local undergraduate university-“Suzhou College”, which is based in Suzhou, facing Jiangsu, radiating the whole country, focusing on industry, coordinated development of multi-disciplines, and distinct school-running characteristics.
School environment
The school has four campuses: Shihu, Ganjiang Road, Tanshan and Li Shilong, covering an area of 1262 mu, with a construction area of 490000 square meters, a collection of 1.386 million paper books and a total value of 183 million yuan for teaching and scientific research equipment. There are 12 colleges (departments), covering science and technology, literature and history, art, normal, sports and other disciplines, a total of 63 majors, ordinary full-time students 13542. There are 1029 teaching staff, 63 senior professional titles and 360. teachers with senior professional titles account for 44.41% of full-time teachers, and teachers with graduate degrees account for 69.9% of full-time teachers. There are 1 expert enjoying the special allowance of the State Council, 2 young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions in Jiangsu Province, 3 training objects of the “six Top Talent Peaks” of the province, 16 training objects of the “333 High-level Talent training Project” of the province, 23 training objects of the “Blue Blue Project” of the province, 1 teacher of the province and 1 excellent teaching team of the provincial level.
The school takes the cultivation of applied high-quality technical and skilled talents as its own responsibility, around the focus of local industrial development and the social demand for shortage of talents, in-depth promotion of teaching reform and construction of talent training characteristics. There are 3 key majors of the Ministry of Education and pilot majors of education reform, 3 key majors of provincial “12th five-year Plan” colleges and universities, and 9 provincial brand characteristic majors. There are 8 provincial high-quality courses, 1 provincial excellent curriculum group, 9 high-quality teaching materials for provincial colleges and universities, and more than 300 teaching materials for teachers. The school has 271 comprehensive training bases integrating teaching, training and service, including 1 vocational education training base construction project of the Ministry of Education and 3 provincial training bases. With Shanghai Datang Mobile Communication equipment Co., Ltd., Siemens (China) Co., Ltd. and other famous enterprises to achieve in-depth cooperation between schools and enterprises, there are 312 off-campus training bases.
Teaching and research achievements
The school is committed to scientific research and innovation. There are 2 provincial engineering centers, 3 provincial research institutes (bases), 2 municipal key laboratories, 2 municipal platforms and 12 school-level research institutes. In the past three years, it has received 12 projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation and Social Science Foundation, 7 provincial and ministerial projects, 474 other social service science and technology projects, 530 authorized patents, and the number of intellectual property rights ranks among similar colleges and universities in the province for many years in a row. The school provides decision-making consultation and project research for local economic construction, government decision-making and enterprise development in many fields, and has made important contributions to the restoration and reconstruction of Suzhou ancient city walls, cultural protection of mountain ponds, embroidery inheritance and innovation.
The school takes Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools as the platform, actively introduces high-quality educational resources from similar foreign institutions, and steadily improves the level of internationalization. He has successively carried out good cooperation with George Brown College in Canada, North Melbourne Institute of Technology and Kai Si Mont College in Australia, Jincheng College in Japan, and National Polytechnic University of New Zealand in credit recognition, exchange of teachers and students, language training and so on.
